No Outfit is Complete Without Glitz & Glam

Nina Garcia, Marie Claire fashion director and Project Runway judge, put it best when she said, “Real or fake, big or small, jewelry adds a 'personal touch' and can instantly transform an outfit.” MARY has taken Nina’s advice and has brought in new jewelry that sure to impress.

Lenora Dame:
Combining boho and retro fashion with whimsical romance, Lenora Dame has created a jewelry line that is uniquely her own. Nostalgia is clearly an inspiration for this designer. Frequent trips to the flea market, antique shops and auctions have motivated Lenora to become creative by using elements of the past to create jewelry that is original and timeless. Mixing materials from wood, glass, even paper and twine, this line of jewelry is offers pieces for the bold and brave fashionista to the subtle and practical girl.

David Aubrey:
David Aubrey has been one of MARY’s favorite jewelry designers for the past several years. This handcrafted jewelry is colorful, yet subtle enough for any outfit. The designer focuses on originality, quality and elegance which comes through in every piece of his collection. The internationally known line provides a vintage, but still current look that is irresistible. MARY absolutely loves its new David Aubrey sign necklaces!

MARY's Fall Tips for the Fashion Savvy

Fall is here! No really, it is. The nonsense weather we are forced to endure in Tuscaloosa may make you feel like we are in the dead of summer, but Fall is in full swing and those cardigans, boots, jeans, and long sleeve tees are calling your name!

Waking up to a cool crisp day makes you want to pull out those stylish scarves and cozy sweaters, but you know by noon you’ll be wishing you had chosen to wear that relaxed summer top instead. This weather dilemma makes shopping a nightmare. All you really want to do is hit up the sale rack for summer leftovers, but with Labor Day done and over, you know you’ll be making a major fashion faux pas! The trick to staying cool in the heat while still showing off those fall trends is transitional clothing!

Transitional clothing is not only perfect for Tuscaloosa weather, but it’s also a smart purchase. Wearable all year long, you’ll find that you're getting the most for your money by purchasing these items. MARY is ready to help you find these necessities while still staying in a reasonable budget.

Cardigans: Cardigans are at the top of MARY’s transitional clothing list. Throw one on in the morning while it’s still cool and as the weather warms up, while the day goes on, you can easily just toss it aside instead of sweating it out. Cardigans thrown over a basic tee can add instant style to any outfit.

The Not-So-Summery-Summer Dress: Those light-weight summer dresses you’ve been living in for the past few months are not ready to be put away with the rest of your summer wardrobe. A dress that is a basic black, brown, or grey; or even any those darker shade prints can easily still be worn into Fall even if it was your go to dress this past July. Just add a pair of leggings or even your favorite Frye boot to make it feel a little more in season.

The Faux Sweater: The sweater that won’t make you feel like you’re getting ready for another one of those Alabama ice storms is the sweater you want! The key is leight-weight, short sleeve and loose fitting.

This 525 America sweater even has a cowl-neck that says “I’m ready for Fall but I’m still checking the weather channel before I leave the house.”

The Skirt: Investing in the perfect skirt is a smart move for the savvy shopper. While it’s still warm out pair your skirt with a simple tank. When the weather gets crisp transition over easily by pairing it with a long-sleeve tee and bootie.

This Leona skirt is a perfect example of a skirt that is easily worn season after season.

Diana Warner, a New York jewelry designer, is one of MARY’s favorite new designers. Diana’s jewelry line began four years ago when her inspirations, gathered from a childhood of everything from sports and outdoors to dance and glamour, came together to create jewelry that is simply irresistible.

A year after creating her beautiful jewelry line, Diana was inspired by a third influence that changed not only her business but also changed the way she designed her jewelry. After six weeks of travelling through Africa and observing devastating poverty and illness, Diana decided that she was not going to see the land around her as a place of unpromising future but rather a place where people with gifts and talents were waiting for opportunity. Beginning with an inspiring South African mother who makes jewelry boxes out of recycled magazines, Diana began making a difference by opening job opportunities for those in need. Since then, Diana has created pieces whose proceeds go to providing for many people in Africa. With each purchase of select jewelry, Diana gives back to provide ten Africans with clean water for a year, money for an organization to help improve the quality of life for African orphans, and the funds to providing job opportunities for others.

Believing in a fight for a cause, beautiful jewelry and inspiring those around her, Diana Warner has created a line of jewelry for every woman. Through it’s simplicity and true uniqueness, Diana Warner jewelry seems to find a place in every jewelry box
